(UNDATED) - As of Saturday, the flu virus death toll so far this season in Indiana now stands at 97.
The State Department of Health says 93 of the deaths occurred in those over the age of 50.
Counties with five or more associated deaths include: Allen, Hamilton, Kosciusko, Lake, Marion, St. Joseph and Tippecanoe.
Doctors still recommend flu shots for those who can get them despite reports citing they're only about 23 percent effective due to a strain not well covered this year.
