(JOHNSON CO.) - A Franklin man is being questioned after allegedly calling in a bomb threat to the Johnson County Courthouse Saturday night.
Deputies were called to the courthouse around 4:45 p.m. on reports an anonymous male caller told the courthouse a bomb was going to go off in 10 minutes, then hung up. All of the streets around the house were shut down and everyone around the courthouse was evacuated while authorities searched for the explosive.
No suspicious packages or devices were ever found inside or outside the courthouse. While authorities were searching, though, 911 dispatchers were able to trace the phone number the anonymous caller had used.
Another phone call from that same number came in around 5:15 asking if the courthouse was clear and saying again that an explosion would be triggered in 10 minutes. A third call came in at 5:45 and a fourth at 5:50.
Deputies went to the house of the person that phone number was registered to, but he denied having anything to do with it.
