(HENDRICKS CO) - A judge sentenced a woman Wednesday after she pleaded guilty in a case in which she was accused of hitting an officer.
According to court records, Amy Valentine was arrested in Dec. 2013 in Brownsburg. Police say Valentine was drinking at a family party, when she tried to break into another home.
Officials say while an officer was trying to arrest her, she hit him in the face and eye and dug her nails into his hand while he tried to handcuff her.
WISH reports, Valentine had a .20 percent BAC, more than two times the legal limit.
Officers say Valentine started yelling at them, saying she was a school teacher. They say she also tried to kick out a squad-car window, and caused thousands of dollars in damages to the officer's in-car computer.
Valentine was sentenced to nearly two years on probation, community service and she must pay the Brownsburg Police Department $2,300 in restitution.
