(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus East High School student was arrested recently for an incident that occurred on campus.
Columbus Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris says that at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, CPD School Resource Officer Julie Quesenbery responded to a second floor classroom where 18-year-old student Jacob Acton had allegedly produced a pocket knife. Acton was seated and holding the knife, said Harris. Officer Quesenbery was able to take the knife without incident.
WSCI reports, school officials said that Acton produced the knife after becoming upset when his cell phone was taken away. He then allegedly threatened school staff with it. There were no other students in the room at the time of the incident. Acton was booked in the Bartholomew County Jail on charges of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Knife of School Property.
