(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gov. Mike Pence is asking state facilities, businesses and residences to fly flags at half-staff Thursday.
Pence is doing so to honor retired U.S. Navy Capt. Charles LaSota, who served 35 years in the Navy and was commander of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division from July 2008 to October 2011. Flags should be at half-staff from sunrise to sunset, according to a news release.
LaSota of Bloomfield died January 26 after battling pancreatic cancer.
