(GREENWOOD) - State police say a large amount of cash and drugs were seized during a raid at a Greenwood motel.
Police, including U.S. Marshals, executed a warrant at the Red Roof Inn at I-65 and Main Street Tuesday night.
Police say the raid started around 5 p.m. Tuesday. While executing a search warrant on Room 211 at the motel, detectives seized cars, more than 10 grams of cocaine and at least $1 million in cash. The amount of cash seized may increase as investigators continue to count it.
One man in the room police raided was arrested. Dewayne L. Lewis, 40, of Greenwood, is facing a preliminary charge of dealing cocaine. He is being
Cocaine and a large sum of money were reportedly seized in the operation. Greenwood Police also assisted and handled the arrest of the suspect.
