(BOONVILLE) - Three southwestern Indiana men are charged with grave robbing after allegedly stealing bones and causing damage at a cemetery.
Nicholas Kinder of Evansville and Boonville residents Damon Busing and Ryan Casey are charged with abuse of a corpse and cemetery mischief.
They're accused of causing about $450 in damage after stealing the skull and bones from a crypt and knocking the top off of a tombstone at Boonville's Maple Grove Cemetery in early December.
The Evansville Courier and Press reports a Boonville police officer acted on a tip that Busing was involved with the cemetery vandalism.
According to police, the 18-year-old admitted he and his friends visited the grave of Casey's grandmother Dec. 8, but he denied damaging grave sites.
Police say Kinder said Busing stole human remains from a casket.
All three men have pleaded not guilty.
