(MUNSTER) - Authorities say a 63-year-old Portage man was killed and another man was critically injured after they were shot during a family dispute in Munster.
Lt. Ed Strbjak says officers responded to a home Sunday night after receiving a call about shots fired. He says the officers found two men on the ground outside of the home with gunshot wounds.
Strbjak says Mario Martinez and another man were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Lake County coroner's office says Martinez died at a local hospital following the incident. His death has been ruled a homicide.
The identity of the second man hasn't been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
