Greenwood - The wife of a slain Greenwood man is accused of instructing her lover and his cousin to kill her husband and leave his body under a Southside bridge, police said.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 2200 block of Bluff Road on a report of dead body in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found the body of Steven D. Williams, 52, of Greenwood, rolled in a carpet and placed under bridge.
Police believe the victim's wife, Opal Williams, devised a plan to murder her husband, according to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. To carry it out, she got help from her boyfriend, Ricky King, and his cousin, Charles Lehman, police said.
Investigators believe that Opal Williams planned the slaying and King and Lehman stabbed Steven Williams to death, the news release said.
All three suspects have been charged with murder, police said. They remain in custody at the Marion County Jail.
