(ANDERSON) - Main Street in Anderson is back open after a gas leak Friday morning.
The city Water Works department was installing a new pipe for a downtown fountain project when they hit an unmarked gas line around 10 a.m.
Representatives of the company responsible for mapping the location of gas lines told officials they weren't aware of that line either.
Vectren crews stopped the leak just before 1:30, and finished repairs to the pipe around 3:30.
Despite the rupture, traffic on 14th Street was not shut down and no businesses in the immediate area were evacuated.
