(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Anderson man will stay in prison on drug-related crimes after his sentence was upheld by the Indiana Court of Appeals Thursday.
37-year-old Anthony Henderson had appealed his sentence after pleading guilty in 2013 to possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, maintaining a common nuisance and a misdemeanor count of dealing in marijuana.
Henderson was arrested Sept. 19, 2013, at his home after police were tipped off that Henderson, a father of eight, was selling drugs at his house. He pleaded guilty in Madison Circuit Court but appealed the sentence.
The appellate court said his sentence was appropriate in light of the seriousness of the charges and that his criminal history included domestic battery, criminal confinement, stalking and probation violations.
He is scheduled to be released from prison in September 2018.
