(FRANKLIN) - In an effort to generate leads in the murders of Chynna and Blake Dickus, police are posting information on billboards along busy highways.
Police say, a killer is still out there, guilty of a brutal double homicide in Franklin. The July 2006 deaths of Blake Dickus and his stepmother Chynna remain unsolved.
Blake's father and Chynna's husband, Sean, discovered the two stabbed to death in their Franklin home. Both also suffered from blunt force trauma.
Police have no potential suspects.
Investigators refuse to call it a cold case. Four Franklin detectives are still working it, actively. But Det. Sgt. John Borgess, who was chief when the murders happened, says that one key tip eludes them.
Police won't reveal exactly what they found in the home that day, but says they did collect important evidence. He also says all theories are still on the table.
There was a lot of construction in the neighborhood at the time. Also, someone burglarized a home down the street on the same day as the murders, which remains unsolved, as well. But still, police have no suspects.
That's why Franklin Police are putting the case back in public view, hoping the thousands of commuters and drivers on I-65 notice new billboards and provide new leads. Three signs just went up, paid for by Lamar Industries, including one near the County Line Road exit in Johnson County, one on the Marion-Boone County line and one along State Road 135 near Bargersville.
The billboards which show the faces of the victims, advertise a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
If you have information on the case, call Franklin Police or the anonymous tip line at (317) 346-1100.
