(HARMONY) - Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Detectives are investigating a mid morning Police Action shooting.
Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Detectives are investigating a mid morning police action shooting that occurred in Clay County Just after 9 o'clock, Clay County 911 received a call from 60-year-old Gary Page, requesting police officers to come to his residence so "they could shoot him".
Approximately two minutes later, Clay County 911 received another call from a person at the scene advising that Gary Page was at an apartment building in Harmony and that he had a firearm and was acting erratic.
When Clay County Deputies arrived Page pointed his firearm at them and other people at the scene. The deputies were forced to discharge their firearms at Page as the situation was dangerous to everyone in the surrounding area.
Page was given first aid by the officers for gunshot wounds while the ambulance was enroute. Page was transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital where he died approximately an hour later.
