(MEROM) - Three men are facing charges after they allegedly firing shots at and damaging the Merom water tower.
WTHI-TV in Terre Haute reports that not only was the water tower extensively damaged, Merom's residents were put at risk because their water supply was disrupted.
In addition, a tree near the water tower believed to be 200-years old was damaged by the ice that formed from the leaking water.
19-year-old Timothy Porras and 20-year-old Jeremiah Mahan, both from Merom, are facing charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm and criminal mischief. 47-year-old Joseph Porras of Merom was charged with criminal recklessness with a firearm.
