(ANDERSON) - The woman who police say admitted to killing a 26-year-old in a hit-and-run in Anderson three months ago was sentenced Monday to three months home detention.
Ava Conley, who had originally plead 'not guilty,' accepted the plea deal Feb.2, requiring her to plead 'guilty' to failure to stop after an accident with entrapment and death.
She was sentenced Monday.
The 58-year-old was actually the first to hit Kari Winningham around 11 p.m. on busy Scatterfield Road, but the second car stopped afterward while Conley kept driving, according to police.
Winningham's family was not happy with Conley's sentencing.
