(INDIANAPOLIS) - An attorney accused of harassing and threatening a woman for years with emails and profanity-laced voice mails after she ended their relationship has been disbarred by Indiana’s high court.
The Indiana Supreme Court said Ronald Mark Keaton demonstrated a "repugnant pattern of behavior and utter lack of remorse" for his harassment of the woman, who was his daughter's college roommate.
The barrage of threats included unfounded accusations she had a mental illness and drug problems.
The Indianapolis Star reports the threats began in 2008 and continued for a few years despite several pleas from the woman for the Fort Wayne attorney to leave her alone.
She obtained a protective order against Keaton in April 2010. He was charged with felony stalking, but those charges were later dismissed.
