(JASPER) - A Ferdinand man was arrested Sunday night after he threatened to kill restaurant patrons with a knife.
Jasper police arrested 29-year-old Rudy Jerome Villarreal on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, theft, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, public indecency and public intoxication.
Police were called to the El Maguey restaurant on North Newton Street around 9 :30 p.m. after a report of a man chasing patrons with a knife and threatening to kill them.
When Jasper, Dubois County deputies and Indiana State Police troopers arrived there was a short standoff with Villarreal who then surrendered.
Police say Villareal's blood alcohol content tested was more than four times the legal limit at .243 percent.
