(EVANSVILLE) - Five grass fires have been reported in Warrick County in the past 24 hours.
WFIE reports that four of the fires occurred near Elberfeld and the other blaze was reported near Tennyson.
The fire department lost one of their four wheelers in one of the fires, along with other equipment.
Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse says the grass fires are being investigated as suspicious.
He says around this time of year, people need to be extra careful when it comes to camping or any activities involving fire.
"If you do have a campfire or bonfire, make sure that is put out," Kruse said. "Totally extinguish it and bury it so those sparks can't be picked up by the wind and start a fire. Just be extra careful."
No one was injured in any of the fires. They remain under investigation.
