(NEW YORK) - Police say three people are facing charges after Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland and his wife were stabbed at a New York club this week.
According to the New York Daily News, the incident happened during an argument at the 1 OAK club. Officials say Copeland was stabbed in the abdomen and his wife was slashed in the arm and leg.
Sources say Copeland's attacker was arrested and that two Atlanta Hawks players were also apprehended for preventing police from setting up a crime scene.
The incident occured as Copeland and his wife were leaving the club. Another woman was apparently slashed in the abdomen during the scuffle. All of three injured individuals were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
22-year-old Shezoy Bleary was arrested following the incident. Charges against him are pending. The two members of the Hawks, Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic, were preliminarily charged with obstructing governmental administration.
Copeland is in New York because the Pacers are scheduled to take on the Knicks Wednesday night.
