(UNDATED) - The makers of a popular brand of hummus announced a voluntary recall Wednesday.
Sabra Dipping Co., LLC announced the recall of about 30,000 cases of its Classic Hummus due to possible listeria contamination. The hummus affected by the recall was distributed to retail outlets across the United States.
"Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," the FDA wrote announcing the recall.
Sabra Classic Hummus in 10- and 30-ounce containers, Sabra Classic Hummus without garnish in a 32-ounce container, the Sabra Classic Hummus 17-ounce six-pack and the Hummus Dual Pack Classic/Garlic 23.5-ounce package are affected by the recall. All the affected products have a "Best Before" date of May 11, 2015.

There have been no reported cases of illness due to the hummus to date and no other Sabra product is affected by the recall.
