(VINCENNES) - A Vincennes man charged with setting several arson fires to area businesses is scheduled to go on trial next month.
23-year-old James Beamon is facing four counts of arson and one count of attempted arson.
According to court records, Beamon is scheduled for a trial by jury on May 26th.
He was arrested by Fire Investigators in June of last year following a string of fires to businesses along Washington Avenue.
He allegedly told investigators he also set fire to the Gimbel Bond building in December of 2011.
Officials say the fires caused a total of $1.2 million dollars in damage.
The trial was originally set for April 28th, but a request for an extension was granted by the court. A pre-trial conference in the case is set for next Friday.
