(NEW CASTLE) - The Henry County coroner says the body of a New Castle woman found near a northern Indiana pond last week was in a suitcase.
Henry County Coroner Steve Hacker says the suitcase containing 22-year-old Kirsten Sidwell's body was about 25 feet from shore. Sidwell's remains were found April 2 near Province Pond in an Indiana Department of Natural Resources wildlife area between Sulphur Springs and Mount Summit.
Hacker tells the Lafayette Journal and Courier that the cause of Sidwell's death is pending toxicology results. He says an autopsy showed no evidence of gunshot or knife wounds.
Authorities have arrested but not charged a suspect in the case.
Police say the woman hadn't been reported missing but her family was looking for her.
