(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus East High School student received the surprise of a lifetime this weekend when he was crowned prom king.
It turns out senior Albert Cyliax was the only one who wasn't in on the plan. His friends helped launch a school-wide campaign to get him nominated to prom court.
Students need at least 30 votes to be nominated to prom court -- Albert received more than 150 votes.
Teachers said Albert, who has Down syndrome, is well-known and well-liked around school. So it was no surprise he was invited to prom -- but he had no idea he would walk away king.
