(MONTICELLO) - A northwestern Indiana man wanted on warrants from two states has been captured after a multi-county chase.
White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer says 24-year-old Cary Tatman of Goodland was captured Sunday morning after crashing his truck into a tree, shocked by a stun gun and seized by a police dog. Officers earlier had tried to stop Tatman in Newton and Jasper counties.
Tatman was treated and released at a hospital for injuries resulting from his capture and then released to the Newton County Sheriff's Department.
Tatman was wanted on for burglary and theft warrants in Newton County, Indiana, and Iroquois County, Illinois, plus a probation violation warrant out of Marshall County, Indiana. Shafer says Tatman also will face charges in White County.
