(SOUTH BEND) - South Bend police are investigating after a man was shot near an intermediate school on Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to North Meade Street after Shotspotter detected gunfire in the area. When they arrived, they found a man between two vacant houses suffering from a gunshot wound to the knee.
The scene of the shooting was less than a block from LaSalle Intermediate Academy.
Police described the man's injuries as non-life-threatening and he was taken to an area hospital.
Witnesses told police three juveniles may have been involved in the shooting. Police had no suspects in custody Friday afternoon.
