(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Judicial Nominating Commission is scheduled to interview eight candidates next month seeking a position on the Indiana Court of Appeals.
The seven-member commission announced Monday that the interviews, which are open to the public, will be held June 10 at the Statehouse.
The commission is seeking a nominee to replace Appellate Judge Ezra Friedlander, who plans to retire on August 31. The commission is chaired by Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush and includes three attorneys elected by attorneys and three citizens appointed by Gov. Mike Pence.
After the interviews, commission members will deliberate in executive session before a public vote on the three most qualified candidates. The names of those three candidates will be submitted to Pence, who then has 60 days to make a selection.
