(LAFAYETTE ) - A Tippecanoe County inmate who authorities say attacked a deputy and stole her patrol car was taken into custody Saturday night after a standoff with police at a Lafayette home.
The Tippecanoe County sheriff confirmed 25-year-old Marcus Bramlett holed himself up inside a home in the 1000 block of South 3rd Street Saturday night, but surrendered to authorities shortly after 11:00. No shots were fired.
Bramlett is accused of overpowering a deputy Friday evening while she transferred him to the Tippecanoe County jail, and driving off in her fully marked Dodge Charger cruiser. The deputy was able to fire a single shot at the car, shattering the driver's side window. That car was found Saturday morning.
