(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on a preliminary charge of murder in the shooting death of a girl in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis police said he was detained on Saturday evening without incident. They said the name of the boy would not be released because he was arrested as a juvenile.
The victim was identified at Kayla Goggins, 18, of Indianapolis. Police said they responded to a report of a large fight at about 11 p.m. on Friday night.
When officers arrived they found Goggins unresponsive after she had been shot in the chest. She died of her wounds.
Police said no other information was being released until a decision is made on final charges.
