(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus woman was injured after being struck by a car early Tuesday morning.
Columbus Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris says that officers were dispatched to State Street near Beatty Lane at 4:08 a.m.
According to police 56-year-old Jeffrey Foster of Danville was driving east on State Street when he struck 48-year-old as Kelly Helander.
Foster told police he did not see Helander until she came up onto his hood and struck the windshield.
Helander, who suffered injuries to her head and right side was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital.
Officers noted that it was raining at the time of the crash and that Helander was wearing black clothing.
