(WARRICK CO.) - On Tuesday at approximately 7:26 p.m., Warrick County Sheriff’s Department received information from security at Walmart that three men and a woman had allegedly stolen items from inside the store and left the area in a grey Chevrolet Malibu.
Indiana State Police Master Trooper Matt Lockridge was nearby and noticed the vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot.
The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver accelerated. The driver then suddenly stopped on High Pointe Drive just east of Libbert Road. When Lockridge exited his patrol car ,the driver accelerated and disregarded the stop sign at Libbert Road and at State Road 66. The vehicle continued west on State Road 66 reaching speeds of approximately 80 miles per hour. The driver lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to go north on I-69.
