(UNDATED) - Heavy rains across the state have left local emergency officials scrambling to deal with ever rising water levels and flooding problems that are forcing some people out of their homes.
Perhaps the most extreme example of the flooding comes from North Wells County where an entire trailer park found itself in several feet of water and residents had to be evacuated in the middle of the night.
The bad news is there isn't much relief on the way with more rain in the forecast over the next several days conditions will continue to deteriorate.
Wells County EMA Deputy Director Rick Velasquez says they are working to get volunteers together to fill sandbags but even that won't mean much if rain continues to fill local water ways. He even noted a part of a local county road had been washed away in the running water.
In Allen County highway officials are closing off sections of road and warning drivers about the dangers of trying to cross rising water. Allen County Public Information Officer Mike Green says they will have crews out around the clock assessing the conditions of roadways and working to keep motorists from getting stranded.
A Flood Warning was issued Tuesday for most of the Northern Central park of the state. Velasquez says forecasters have said they could see another 4 to 5 inches by the weekend.
There is also massive flooding problems in the Northwest and North Central parts of the state.
If you're in danger because of flooding problems you should immediately call authorities for help. If you would like to assist with sandbagging efforts you can contact your local emergency management office.
