(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis police say they now believe the disappearance of a 3-month-old girl from her family’s home was not “a random act.”
Officer Rick Riddle said Saturday in a statement that detectives investigating Janna Rivera's disappearance "do not believe this to be a random act."
He says police are following up on all leads and are conducting searches for the child, who was reported missing Friday.
Police had suspended the search for the girl Friday afternoon after scouring a four-square-mile area using helicopters, dogs and foot patrols. Divers also searched two neighborhood retention ponds.
Police say the girl's mother called 911 to report her child was missing about 11 a.m. Friday, and told officers her boyfriend was the last one seen with the infant.
Police questioned the mother and the boyfriend.
