(BRAZIL) - Authorities say a Texas woman who stopped to help at a crash scene on Interstate 70 in western Indiana died after a second crash occurred there.
Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Helmer tells the Terre Haute Tribune-Star a semitrailer coming over a hill didn't see a disabled vehicle in the passing lane and struck it and the Texas woman's parked pickup truck around 4 a.m. Tuesday about 50 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and hometown haven't been released.
Helmer says the woman had stopped to help another motorist who had crashed swerving to miss a deer. He says the semitrailer struck the disabled vehicle and the Texas woman's pickup.
Helmer says the driver of the disabled car also was injured.
