(VANDERBURGH CO.) - A Evansville man was arrested after he was found driving drunk with his 13-year-old nephew as a passenger.
On Tuesday at 5:56 p.m. an Indiana State Trooper was patrolling on State Road 66 near State Road 65 when he spotted a speeding 2002 Pontiac minivan. The driver was traveling 74 miles per hour in a 60 miles per hour zone.
The vehicle was stopped on Spirit Trail just west of State Road 65.
The driver, 45-year-old Brian Hobbs of Evansville, smelled of alcohol and had blood-shot eyes. Troopers found a small liquor bottle in the driver's door and an almost empty bottle of Jim Beam behind the driver's seat.
Hobb's 13-year-old nephew was a front seat passenger.
Hobbs was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a passenger under 18 years of age. He was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. His nephew was released to a family member.
