(INDIANAPOLIS) - A new WalletHub.com study shows that Indianapolis could be the most American city in the country.
The Circle City scored the best when it came to the most American cities in both the overall and in the larger city categories.
The website took a look at demographic statistics for more than 350 cities in the U.S., focusing on four areas: sociodemographic, housing, economic and education statistics.
Indianapolis came in 10th in the sociodemographic rank, which focuses on gender, age, race and household makeup.
In housing statistics, Indianapolis ranked fourth. The housing category focused on things like renter-to-owner ratio, median house price and vacancy rate.
Indianapolis' economic ranking was third. The economic statistic looked at household income levels, wealth gap, unemployment rate, length of average workday and commute time.
Lastly, Indianapolis finished eighth in the education category, which focused on percentage of people aged 25 or older who finished high school or college.
The study was conducted by weighing different categories based on what the nationwide value is.
Other Indiana cities or areas on the rankings are Fort Wayne at 83, Columbus at 113, the South Bend-Mishawaka area at 121, the Elkhart-Goshen area at 175, Terre Haute at 206, Evansville at 225, Kokomo at 249, Lafayette-West Lafayette at 317, Bloomington at 347 and Muncie at 361.
