(UNDATED) - IMPD detectives are investigating what they’re calling the “intentional killing of a dog.”
They say it happened early July 2nd. That's when the dog's owner noticed the dog named Morpheus was missing from his property in the 9300 block of Cooper Road on the city's northwest side. The owner later found the dead dog not far away in the 8200 block of Stones Ferry Drive. The cause of death was ruled as due to a single gunshot wound.
The owner told police this followed an argument that he had with someone who rents a stall in his horse barn. He told police the person had threatened to hurt him and his dog.
IMPD Lt. Richard Riddle says they're seeking a person of interest, but don't have enough information to link anyone to the dog's killing. They're asking anyone who may have seen anything to contact IMPD.
