(PEKIN) - Several hundred people in the Pekin area are without water, the result of a water main break Thursday afternoon.
Pekin Clerk-Treasurer Sherry Clem says a large main broke under the railroad tracks at Sullivan Feed Mill. It could take a couple of days to fix the line.
Those affected are residents on Gobbler Knob Road, Robbs Lane, Ind. 335, All of Old Pekin, Ind. 60 from Sunoco to the bottom of the hill going into Borden.
Some residents will continue to have a small trickle of water.
"Crews are attempting to at least try to make it where everybody can have a small trickle of water," Clem.added. "This is a big break and it will probably take a couple of days to fix. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we're doing all we can to get it back up and going as quickly as possible."
Crews closed Grove Street is closed due to the break.
