(INDIANAPOLIS) - On Sunday around 10:15 p.m. a woman was struck by a vehicle while walking along I-74 near the 70.6 mile marker.
Fifty four-year-old Htoo Say Paw, of Speedway and another woman were walking on the shoulder of I-74 westbound when she was struck and severely injured.
The vehicle that struck her continued westbound on I-74. A witness described the car as a dark-colored passenger car. It is believed the car has damage to the front passenger side as a result of this crash.
Police say heavy rain in the area was likely a factor in this crash as visibility was limited.
Paw was hospitalized with broken bones, a laceration to the upper thigh and a bruised lung, she is expected to recover.
