(EVANSVILLE) - CVS Pharmacy is helping in the fight against meth.
The company is replacing some medications that contain pseudoephedrine, an ingredient used to make meth, with a new tamper-resistant pseudoephedrine product.
The tamper-resistant product makes it impossible for meth makers to make the drug. Pharmacists say if they try, they will end up with a nasty gel.
According to a CVS spokesperson, if you buy Sudafed and the generic version, it's now called Zephrex.
Communities that have made the switch have seen a sharp decline in meth numbers, according to CVS officials.
