(EVANSVILLE) - The Evansville Otters are under investigation by the Frontier League.
The investigation could mean the club may have to forfeit some games.
The Otters are currently in a battle for 1st place in their division, but were recently informed that starting pitcher Will Oliver will be considered ineligible because he was too old to play.
The question is whether or not Evansville knew Oliver was ineligible or if it was a misunderstanding between the Otters and the league, because some players can play longer if certain qualifications are met.
The Otters have been asked not to speak about the matter until the league investigation is complete.
A ruling is expected early this week, perhaps as early as Monday, to let the Otters know if they'll receive some sort of discipline.
