(TENNYSON) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a Tennyson man on charges of illegally taking of a white- tailed deer when hunting season was closed, hunting by the aid of a motor driven conveyance and shooting from a public roadway.
According to police on July 15 Officer Eric Stamps watched a 73-year-old Charles D. Scales shoot from the roadway at a deer in a nearby field.
Officer Stamps stopped the vehicle Tennyson in an area that had several past road hunting complaints.
Conservation officers say road hunting and shooting from a public roadway is a great safety concern and is illegal in the state of Indiana.
Hunting seasons are established to allow hunters the same time and opportunities to harvest game, and to avoid harvesting animals while they are nesting or raising their young.
