(JOHNSON COUNTY) - Authorities in Johnson County announced a major drug bust Tuesday.
Johnson County Prosecutor Bradley Cooper says they've served more than 50 felony arrest warrants and have arrested about 30 people so far for drug dealing.
Cooper says this follows a year-long probe into heroin and meth dealing in Johnson and Marion Counties. He says most of those arrested are in their 20s.
He says Johnson County Sheriff's deputies and Franklin Police made undercover drug purchases from dozens of people during the probe. Cooper says some of the dealers are connected, but most operated independently of each other. He says they recovered some drugs and one gun.
Cooper says many of those arrested are from Indianapolis. He adds that while heroin and meth remain big issues, rather than "handing out needles, we hand out arrest warrants."
