(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis City-County members and the mayor remain at odds about funding for the police department.
Councilors attempted and failed to override a veto Monday night by Mayor Greg Ballard of an earlier spending plan.
The council voted last year to implement a public safety tax increase to fund new IMPD officers and train and equip them. However, the administration transferred $6.8 million out of the IMPD budget earlier this spring.
