(CARMEL) - Federal agents are at the home of American Senior Communities CEO James G. Burkhart Tuesday, along with two other locations, in connection with an investigation.
The Carmel Police Department is assisting the FBI. FBI agents are at three different locations -- two in Carmel and one in Indianapolis.

Authorities confirm the raids are related to criminal matter, but won't specify the nature of the investigation. The US attorney's office would only confirm that a criminal investigation is ongoing.
Burkhart's home is located in the Claybridge neighborhood. Burkhart is the CEO of American Senior Communities, a nursing home based in the Indianapolis. FBI agents are also at the company's headquarters near Southport and Gray Road in Indianapolis.
The Indiana Health Care Association released a statement saying they learned of the investigation Tuesday morning and "will continue to gather information as it becomes available."
