(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Attorney General’s office says that there are nearly 30 victims of foreclosure-rescue fraud that are now getting payments through the state’s Consumer Protection Assistance Fund.
The fund is designed to help individuals and families that have been scammed by people posing as foreclosure rescue companies.
In one case officials says 10 people were scammed by the same person in the Indianapolis area accounting for more than $117,000 dollars.
Scams like these target individuals that are late on their payments or already in foreclosure.
The victims cover 11 counties across the state.
