(UNDATED) - Outdoor Indiana magazine’s September-October issue features Fort Harrison State park, home of the seventh annual Ford Hoosier Outdoor Experience, September 19-20.
The article is a removable eight-page insert on the park that opened in 1993 on a portion of the U.S. Army's former Fort Benjamin Harrison. The insert continues the magazine's series in which one state park or state-managed lake will be portrayed through 2016, the 100th anniversary of Indiana state parks.
Although surrounded by the Indianapolis metro area, the 1,700-acre park includes a sizable woods that is heavy enough to give visitors the sense of being in a forest, and offers a unique combination of nature, military history and recreation.
Outdoor Indiana is available now at most Barnes & Noble stores in Indiana for $4. Subscriptions are $15 for one year (six issues, a 38 percent savings off cover) and $28 for two years (12 issues, a 42 percent savings off cover).
