(FERDINAND) - A traffic stop on Interstate 64 led to a Scipio woman being jailed on multiple narcotics charges.
At 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, Trooper Brock Werne pulled over a truck for speeding on Interstate 64 at the 61.5 mile marker.
During the course of the traffic stop, Trooper Werne and Master Trooper Brian LaRoche spoke with the passenger, 30-year-old Bridget A. Vaughn, of Scipio.
Troopers learned that Vaughn was illegally in possession of numerous prescription medications, including Clonazepam, Alprazolam (both Schedule IV controlled substances), and Hydrocodone, a Schedule II controlled substance. Vaughn additionally had several burnt marijuana cigarettes and five syringes.
Vaughn was arrested on charges of possession of a schedule II and schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a syringe and possession of marijuana. She transported to the Dubois County Security Center without incident.
The driver of the vehicle was not charged.
