Several Indiana Elected Officials Denouncing Nuclear Deal With Iran

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Several elected officials in Indiana are denouncing the President’s nuclear deal with Iran, including Gov. Mike Pence, who sent a letter to the President along with other U.S. governors.

"The Iran nuclear agreement negotiated by the Obama Administration is a bad deal and should be rejected," said Governor Pence. "While President Obama plans to lift nuclear-related federal sanctions on Iran, in Indiana we intend to maintain our state-level sanctions, and I have made that clear to the president today."

Also against the deal are Sen. Dan Coats (R-IN) and Rep. Susan Brooks (R-IN).

"This is probably one of the most defining issues of the time," said Coats. "We're going to give it one more shot on Tuesday and I hope those who go home listen to their constituents."

"We want to make sure Iran does not have the ability to do self inspections," said Brooks. "In my district, they are overwhelmingly in support of us going back to the negotiating table and not approving this deal."
