(VIGO CO.) - A Vigo County man, who was arrested Sunday morning in connection to a stabbing investigation, was in court Monday morning.
The incident happened Saturday evening at a home on Tabortown Road in Brazil.
Central Dispatch received the call just before 10 p.m. on Saturday that Robert Brenton, Jr. had been stabbed.
Police say James Brenton stabbed his brother Robert Brenton, Jr. in the back with a crossbow-arrow. According to the police report the brothers got into a fight in the kitchen.
Officials said that James Brenton's son had stabbed his uncle in the shoulder trying to protect his father but when Robert Brenton tried to leave, that's when police say James stabbed his brother in the lower back.
Robert Brenton, Jr. was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to be treated for his injuries.
James Brenton is being held in the Vigo County Jail on a $35,000 bond and is due back in court Thursday.
