Three Arrested After ISP Troopers Find Heroin

(VERMILLION CO.) - A man was arrested for drunk driving and two others were arrested on drug charges.

According to an Indiana State Police report, Sunday at 5 p.m. Trooper Chuck Murphy stopped a silver 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix for driving 75 miles-per-hour in a 60 mph zone on southbound State Road 63 just south of US 36.

During discussions with the occupants, Trooper Murphy noticed what appeared to be the odor of burnt marijuana inside the car.

During a search of the vehicle, police found 11 grams of heroin under the front passenger seat.

A subsequent search of the occupants netted approximately two grams of marijuana in the clothing of the front seat passenger.

The driver refused a chemical test for intoxication.

Police arrested the driver 26-year-old Michael Williams of Vincennes on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated refusal, OWI. OWI endangerment and possession of narcotic (heroin).

The front seat passenger, 22-year-old Darrius Robinson of Vincennes is facing charges of possession of a narcotic (heroin) and possession of marijuana.

A rear seat passenger, 56-year-old Levana Robinson, also of Vincennes, is facing charges of possession of a narcotic. Police say she is the mother of Darrius Robinson.

Assisting at the scene were ISP Master Troopers Ty Lightle and John Goldner.
